Knoxville Knitting

First, and right at the top of the page, lemme spread the word that June 13th is this year's World Wide Knit in Public Day, which is a Saturday.

Which leads to this collection of local knitting groups I want to share. In pulling together this list, I had three criteria: 1) they gotta be in Knoxville, 2) they gotta be free, and 3) they gotta be open to the public.

For a more inclusive list of surrounding area groups, and even one with a fee, see Beata's thorough list here on Ravelry. If you're not yet on Ravelry, how many times do I gotta tell ya to get over there?
  • Our Group (as yet unnamed) meets every Sunday in the cafe of Borders, the Turkey Creek location. We meet from 10am - 2pm.

  • The Yarn Haven has their Friday Night Knitting Club on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of every month from 6p – 9p. This one is a pot-luck snacky event. They also offer a Sit ‘n Stitch every Wednesday 1p – 4p.
  • Loopville hosts a Meet Me in Loopville, every 3rd Thursday until 8pm, and their Tea With Judy is every Monday & Friday from 1p – 3pm.
  • There is a Knoxville SnB that has a variety of locations and times.
Pick one (or two or all) and and go knit your brains out with some good company. Or start your own group (and let us know about it)! Or just find a nice place to roost yourself on June 13, to kip. Your favorite bar, the park, at the mall, where ever. Or, for some quality couple time, accompany your husband on his fishing trip, and knit in the boat while he fishes! If you chose this one, I want pictures of you knitting in that bass boat.
